Wake up church!
So in the past year or so we as a country and world have faced some major issues with morality, lawlessness, and very controversial matters. We have seen our world having to face very real realities of a Godless nation. We were once known as one nation under God in both deed and speech however, today we are moving away from this in great fashion. So as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and having a personal relationship with Him I understand we are not to be moved too much by what we see going on in this world but it is a challenge every day not to do so. I look at the world and try to understand why they are not being affected by us (the church). I also look at what message we are sending as the church. So with all this being said here is by charge to the church of today.
Church can we stop being so judgmental of the world and be more loving?
Church can we be more of an example of who Christ was when He walked this earth?
Church can we stop treating God like he is Burger King and wanting Him the way we want Him instead of doing what He has asked us to do?
Church can we accept the whole gospel and what God has ordained very providentially?
Church can we get along instead of having issues denominationally that have nothing to do with God or His word, but just are a bunch of man- made rules?
Church can we stop being so hypocritical and start aiming for holiness knowing that we are all trying to get this thing right?
Church can we stop avoiding the very real issues like predatory preaching and false messages coming from those who are not right in the church today?
Church can we grow up and stop letting very shallow Sunday morning lessons sustain us throughout the week without doing any other individual study like our relationship is not with God?
Church can we not tolerate preachers asking us to fund their extravagant lifestyles while our own lives are in shambles? Example you have 2 planes jets to be exact but you ask the church for a third one because one is not working! WTH???? !
Church can we stop perpetrating and call a thing a thing like racism in the church or sexual immorality amongst members and leaders in the church? Yet we wonder why the world is sexually perverted!
Church can we deal with the very real issues that the church faces today like losing this generation to this world while continuing traditional youth programing that is not working?
Church can we look at the political decisions being made and realize that we have allowed our voice to be taken by the government and politics because we were too lazy, unconcerned, unaware, and too busy judging people instead of being their voice.
Church can we stop being punks and stand up for what is right and not find reasons to be politically correct all the time and call right and wrong by both their names. Please can we do this with the church first instead of running to judge the world who have no conviction of godliness whatsoever in many cases.
I can go on and on with these challenges from myself to the church, but you best believe I am asking myself the same questions. I learned a long time ago to stop playing church and to wake up and see what is really going on. I don’t do the pulpit worship of mere men any longer as I once did. They are human beings, sure to sin, fail, and that put their draws on one leg at a time like I do and they will never again be put in the same category as God the Father. But so many have it wrong today in the way they are allowing men and women supposedly representing God but are not servants. They are in every way wanting to be served. They are asking of their people things that they should be doing for their flocks. When have you ever known of any good Shepard to not have the best intentions of and for their flock? When have you ever seen the Shepard asking for his flock to sacrifice for him? We have it backwards and we need to stop serving these people like they are God and demand that they be what they were called to be as the heads of our churches. Enough is enough people and unless we get it together real soon then we will see our own demise and won’t be able to blame anyone other than ourselves.
I deal with people every day who are so confused because what examples we have been to them as the church, and for as much as I want to say it was not me it is because we are the church as a whole and when one is wrong we are all wrong unfortunately. This does not mean that I have it all together and am faultless but it also does not mean that I am purposely misleading people with my deeds and or speech either. I am really concerned about the message we are sending as we relax in God and are slowly as a whole being misled by not being led by the Holy Spirit. The bible clearly says that if we are not careful we will be deceived as the elect people of God and we must be very aware that deception can creep in if we are not wise.
Wakeup church I say wake up because if we don’t people will be lost and we will be held accountable for their souls. I say stop being religious which biblically speaking is having a form of godliness but denying all of His power, and strive for a personal relationship with God that has nothing to do with religion itself. Lastly let’s love more as it is the only commandment Jesus gave us. Love the Lord god with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself- Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27.
