Reevaluation

I wanted to encourage all who read with this topic today. One of the healthiest things one could do in my opinion is reevaluate life. When we do this it grants us the opportunity to grow, mature, gain discipline in needed areas of life, and become a better person overall. I do this often, but really feel that because of the very turbulent year we have had as a nation, and as a whole it is much needed. I will look at a few areas that I feel that will help you as the reader to regain focus moving into the New Year. Additionally challenge you to move forward with new goals, and plans that will propel you forward even more.

Family- As it pertains to the family never negate the opportunity to increase relations with your families. Make sure that you prioritize the health and well-being of your family very high. The success of the family unit starts off with clear goals, a clear vision, and direct and clear communication. The family unity is also very important, and cannot be gained without clear communication. Finally setting financial goals is a must as well. Remember that without a vision death is inevitable.

Friends- Each year I take a look at my contact list to see who it is that I have not communicated with. I reevaluate the relationship to see if it needs improvement. For those of you reading who know me well you know how valuable relationships are to me so I do this very strategically.  I suggest that you really take a close look at who you consider friends, associates, business partners, fair weather, inconsistent, unpredictable, trustworthy, or not at all, or even worth your friendship. This is vital in knowing who you can depend on, and how valuable the relationship really is. This gives you a greater focus and allows those relationships that you should have to manifest in your life. This also saves you a lot of time because every phase of life has time bandits. Choose your friends wisely, and try to never have enemies.

Goals- I try not to ever make New Year reso-lies! Lol… typically they are goals that are set too high and never reached. So, as it pertains to goals I encourage everyone to set realistic ones. Set a few short term goals, some months out, and then some a year out. This grants time to look over them all while attaining the shorter term goals. This increases the confidence in making them, and decreases the fear of failing. Never be without goals as it leads to unfulfilled expectations which is manifested in frustration.

Dreams- “Dreamers never sleep and sleepers never dream!” please don’t negate the opportunity to dream. We have only one life to live, and I for one never want to be caught thinking that I never fulfilled a dream I have ever had. I say to all who read NEVER STOP DREAMING! Keep the capacity to dream alive, well in your life, and brain. If anyone reading has lost the zeal to dream because of many dreams that were never reached I say go back and re-examine what happened. Look at what could have stopped it from happening, and try again. Nothing can stop you from dreaming, or reaching a dream but you. From this day forward never allow your dreams to be stolen from you. Keep your imagination alive and sharp.

Finances- Look over your financial situation, reevaluate what this year looks like, and set new financial goals. Make a plan to have more money saved this year than last year. Look for investment opportunities. This looks different for each one reading this blog. For one it might be donations to certain ministries, to another it might be the stock market. To someone else it might be investments into retirement plans. Finally it may look completely different than any of the things I named. No matter what it looks like plan to be a lot better at the end of this upcoming year than you were at the end of this current one. If you don’t know how to save, or have never been able to save start somewhere. Start by saving all of your loose change. Take five bucks out of each check. Or stop drinking Starbucks for a while and save that money. For some it may be coffee for others it could be fast food each week. Whatever it may be start somewhere to reach short saving goals. Plan a trip and how it looks to get there. Set very specific goals and try to reach them little by little. Make saving money a priority as we are definitely headed into uncertain financial times as a country in my opinion.

Finally how does life look for you overall? Your place in this life, i.e.: Politics, community, and influence. What do you bring to the table of life? Do you matter to anyone around you? Are you affecting the lives of others in any way?

These are just a few of many questions that could be asked, and I am now asking you as the reader these questions.  Where do you fit in this life is a very real and valid question you should ask yourself. What is my destiny, and who does it include? What path am I to take along this journey called life? Ones place in life is very important, and should be clearly understood.   I recommend that all who read should be at least a little informed by our political influence. We should never be caught by surprise by anything that goes on in the political arena. We should never allow politics to make decisions for us as well. Make it a point moving forward to not be caught by surprise by any political move ever again.  Stay alert, aware, and get involved. As it pertains to your communities, make it a point to know what is going on. If you don’t know what to do start by being active in your community. Assist those who need assistance. Help those who need help. Be a voice to those who don’t have a voice. Finally your influence is so important. Statistically you as an individual are influencing 7-10 people at a time without even knowing it. So be very purposeful in everything that you say and do as someone is watching. Don’t be fruitless in your actions. Make every decision matter, and fally make a difference with your life and in the lives of others.

So, here are my suggestions for the New Year as it pertains to reevaluation in your lives. I hope this helps, and allows you to move forward in this upcoming year.

Happy New year everyone!

Have a great day!
