Race Racism and Reality!

Race Racism and Reality

Man oh man what is really going on in 2017 in our country? It seems like the only thing that we hear about is race and racism. It is as if we have not made any progress since the 1960’s and the civil rights movement. We have completely digressed as a whole because of what happened from 2008-2016. I have heard it said, and seen exhibited that; “Black success is always followed by white backlash!” We have seen this in so many ways and it is completely out there. Anyone who is paying close attention is witnessing voter suppression in many of the southern states, strategic unraveling of laws set in Place by President Barak Obama dealing with racial inequality and police brutality, tax laws that favor the rich, and a white house filled with white supremacist who are making laws that will take us back to before the 50’s in this country.  There is so much to be said about these three subjects, but I will try to break them down one by one. Additionally when it comes to what America is wanting in 2017 it is completely unrealistic. As a man of faith; not religious or a church goer I see the church failing big time. We have a lack of leadership coming from the church, no strong convincing voice that will lead people to God. In the name of conservative values we have accepted very low standards, and morality. The shameful truth is people of “faith”, or the lack thereof have chosen their race over their faith to make decisions. Unfortunately the church has sold this racial hypocrisy and ignorant followers have fallen for it. The whole basis is drenched in a slave man’s mentality that has been preached for years. This is simply not biblical, and for anyone to believe that the systems of this world can be demoted to faith and god are truly ignorant folks. I AM NEVER GOING TO GIVE THE CHURCH A PASS especially when we as a whole are wrong! Yes, I said we because it is the body of Christ, and God knows I wish it were different but it isn’t. People have chosen to live religious over having a personal relationship with God that is exhibited in their daily walk of love with God, and shown in their daily actions to this world.  This is the only explanation for why we as a country would allow (a known family history of racial inequality, and prejudice) to lead this country with mayhem, disorder, ignorance, and embarrassing acts by someone who’s intelligence is only 140 characters deep. With major leaders of the church world saying that they support this man after he has stated on record that he has never asked for forgiveness because he has never felt the need to ask??? Once again I say as I have in many other blogs this is ignorance by choice. The sad reality is this is also coming from very prominent “leaders of the church!”

Race; A term that was created to bring division between mankind through stupid definitions. The system of white supremacy has allowed race to be a determining factor in almost every category. Here is Webster’s definition;

A group of people of common ancestry, distinguished from others by physical characteristics, such as hair type, color of eyes and skin, stature, etc. Principal races are Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid. 2. The human race, human beings collectively.

Racism; social, economic, and racial reasons and or purposes. Under this term white privilege arose. Here is the definition Webster gives on racism; a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

2a: a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles b: a political or social system founded on racism

3: racial prejudice or discrimination

Reality; let’s talk about the reality of these terms and subjects. Now, if any of you are avid readers of my blogs then you know I am very real with what I say. I will never be known as one who will tickle anyone’s ear or tell alternative facts like this current administrations has made popular. I believe in calling a spade a spade, and telling it how it is. Our society for a long time now have been telling lies to appease people. That has never been me, nor will it ever be me.  This notion to not live in reality is crazy. People today are living in a false sense of what is real. I have come to the conclusion that people are choosing to live under a false allusion of what’s real. Its like people have made the choice to settle for deception and being deceived.

So, to tie all of this together I wanted to bring more attention to the real realities of where we are today as a whole. The very real and harsh truth is that we are living in an America that was created under this notion of separation. Somehow we have been led to believe that if we forget our very real history that it will not come back to haunt us. Well oh well welcome to what happens when you don’t address very real and systemic issues that pertain to hatred and race. How can we expect to believe that our society is all better, and healed from issues that date back to 1619 when the first slaves landed on American soil to be all forgotten. How ignorant of us as a society where white privilege and white supremacy has ruled for years to think we can actually move forward in unity. We are as divided today as ever, and   one of the biggest ring leader is 45. I can’t even address this dude as president. He is one of the most manipulative dues I have ever seen in leadership. Let me qualify that by saying we have had leaders in the past lie and deceive also like; Hoover, and Adams just to name a few who were also racist.  I know the real history of this country.  Number 45 is just following in the footsteps of those who came before him.

The attitudes and mindsets of white privilege has always existed in this country. Those who walk in this mindset have been in many leadership positions for years. People out of ignorance want to equate racism with the way someone looks not those who make economic decisions. When one race of people can determine how an entire race of people end up financially is true racism. It has, and always will be about money and power. This has nothing to do with race. We are all one race the human race. However, our differences will always be an issue until the attitudes, attributes, and characteristics of white privilege are dismantled or humbled.  When we as a country can admit that white fear is what’s driving this craziness we are witnessing in our country then we will be one step closer to moving forward. Until America is willing to admit that for 398 years of inequality, enslavement financially, redlining, governmental and constitutional decisions that favor the rich and or whites in America, and civil rights violations we will not be moving forward anytime soon. Until America is willing to call domestic terrorism and terrorist by mane we will remain in denial. When we can call the assault and destruction of an entire self-sufficient community led by black’s in the black  wall street the first act of American terrorism in America then we will continue to run from our real history. Until we can standup and call the enslaving of black folks in the country what it was, and stop trying to change the narrative to my ancestors being indentured servants we are still in denial. When we can call the rapes of thousands of black women who were owned by white slave owners cruel and inhumane, rapes not love affairs with mistresses then we are one step closer to acceptance. Finally when we can admit that black lives have never mattered over white lives in this country then we will be at a point of accepting what this country has truly stood for.

Please stop acting like race and racism is not a major issue today. Stop acting like Jim Crow did not have kids, and grandkids who are now coming to the forefront in many ways. Stop acting like number 45 has not emboldened the mindset and attitudes of many who would like nothing more than to return back to a darker time in this country. Yes, I said darker because right now is pretty dark. Here’s a news flash for those who are also under the illusion that the millennials as a whole are pass this whole race and racism notion. They are not, and those who are sleep will say different. However in a recent survey done this was proven to be false. If you have paid any attention to the events across this country Charlottesville being one of the craziest cities that stands out. Places in Michigan, Tennessee, and also Texas and on many college campuses across this country. For example the black girl who was harassed by her white room-mate at the University of Hartford, (story at the end of the blog). People like Richard Spencer who is a young white male is a clear representative of the average white male who is running around proclaiming their whiteness. These are very real attitudes and actions beign followed by these ignorant individuals. Sure in most cases they are small in number, but you can’t under-estimate the power of division that can be resurrected through a few deceived people running off of fear.

If I were to leave you with anything to think about it would be to never forget that history will always repeat itself. Second to never be afraid to face the realities of life. Next, it would be to stop avoiding very real conversations that need to take place. Next, it would be to ask yourself if you are aware of what is taking place right before our very eyes as it pertains to major decisions being made by our state, local, and federal representatives’. Additionally I would ask you as the reader to ask yourself if what you are seeing on news outlets is correct. Ask yourself if you are informed enough about decisions that are being made to decrease democracy in this country. Finally I would ask myself if I were ok with the standards of the most important secular office in this country being corrupted by a very unstable individual.  Can you sleep at night knowing that evil is at hand in so many ways? Are you one of the people who will stand frivolously by and watch this malevolent, immoral, non-empathetic and cataleptic group of government official’s continue to dis grace our country? I would hope not. I would also hope that you are taking a close look at what you want our country to become, and make a stand to fight against anything or anyone who is against this.

Just a little something for you as the reader to think about as we watch this country fall apart with no Godly representation. The church has also fallen asleep over the years, and is still leading the way in segregation. You have ignorant individuals who are proclaiming that this dude in the white house is godly which he is not!  Additionally you have people placing godly standards and principals to this joke of a leader. The bible is clear when it states in   Proverbs 6:16-19; Here are six things God hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion:

Eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent,
a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track,
a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family. These are all attributes of number 45. I pray for this dude, but I also realize that America got exactly what it asked for.  Stay tuned as the hearts of man will be revealed as this whole thing unravels.

Check out the article about the student at the University of Hartford…

A onetime student at the University of Hartford admitted licking her roommate’s dining utensils and secretly smearing bodily fluids on her backpack — a “deeply disturbing” case of alleged bullying that exploded on social media, prompted two messages from the Connecticut school’s president and police requesting that hate crime charges be filed on Wednesday.

Freshman Chennel Rowe posted a 103-minute Facebook Live video Monday about her roommate nightmare. Rowe said she had felt “unwanted in [her] own room” since being randomly assigned to bunk with Brianna Rae Brochu in late August. After moving in, Rowe said, she started getting sick, including throat pain that ultimately led her to see a doctor. Rowe said she had requested a room change and had begun moving her belongings to another location on Oct. 17, when she was approached by one of her student neighbors who spotted “very concerning posts” on Brochu’s Instagram account, according to police reports obtained by the Hartford Courant.

One of the posts — which has since been deleted but was captured via screenshot by Rowe — appeared to confirm Rowe’s suspicions: Brochu had been covertly harassing her and tampering with her personal items for more than a month.

“Finally did it ya girl got rid of her roommate!” Rowe said, recalling Brochu’s post. “After 1½ months of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons [on] her backpack, putting her toothbrush where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye to Jamaican Barbie.” Brochu, who was arrested Saturday on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace, has admitted licking Rowe’s plate, fork and spoon, as well as smearing her own bodily fluid on Rowe’s backpack, but denied the other actions she referenced on Instagram. She told West Hartford police that those statements were lies and a way to “appear funny” online.

Brochu, of Harwinton, claimed she had been reacting to a “hostile environment” created by Rowe, who allegedly posted Snapchat videos of Brochu snoring. Brochu also requested a room change last month but was unsuccessful, according to the Courant.

Rowe’s video prompted a nationwide response on social media, with many users posting in support of Rowe and calling for #JusticeforJazzy. (Rowe’s Facebook account identifies her as Jazzy Rowe, but a University of Hartford email directory lists her as Chennel Rowe.)

“I can’t believe someone would do this,” one Twitter post read. “Such a despicable human being. Sorry you had to go through that girl.”

Others on social media characterized the allegations as “absolutely disgusting and atrocious,” while some said Brochu could’ve killed Rowe by contaminating her lotion with mold. The incident and its subsequent explosion on social media also prompted the university’s president to address students Wednesday, saying that the “deeply upsetting” incident doesn’t reflect the values of the school. President Greg Woodward also addressed the “accusations of racism” raised by Rowe and others in connection with the incident.

“Acts of racism, bias, bullying, or other abusive behaviors will not be tolerated on this campus,” Woodward said in a statement. “I pledge to do everything in my power to work with our community to address related concerns together.”

Woodward has also met with Rowe and has been in talks with her family.

“We will continue to offer support and assistance to her, as well as any other student that feels threatened, victimized, or uncomfortable on our campus,” his statement continued. “Let me repeat: racism and hatred will not be tolerated on this campus. Period.”

A judge ordered Brochu to stay off the University of Hartford’s campus and not to contact her former roommate during a brief court appearance on Wednesday, the Hartford Courant reports. Police in West Hartford also requested that Brochu face felony hate crime charges of intimidation based on bigotry or bias in addition to the breach of peace and criminal mischief counts she faces.

Brochu did not comment during the hearing and her case was transferred to Hartford Superior Court, where she’s expected to return on Nov. 15, the Courant reports.

Woodward also released a second statement Wednesday on the “deeply disturbing situation,” saying Brochu is no longer welcome at the 6,700-student university.

“She will not be returning to the institution,” Woodward said in a statement. “There has been an outpouring of concern for the victim of these acts from across the University and the country. In my meeting with her yesterday, I reiterated my personal commitment to ensuring she has all available personal and academic resources the University can provide.”

Rowe, who did not return a message from The Post seeking comment Wednesday, said she believes the incident would’ve been handled much differently if she had victimized Brochu.

“The fact that I’m black and my old roommate was white … If the roles was switched, I want to know if it would be handled the same way, right?” Rowe said during her Facebook Live video. “Because I damn well know it wouldn’t.”

Remember I told you that Jim Crows kids had kids and grandkids!

As always have a great day!
