Love Yourself

This particular blog is dedicated to those of you who have trouble loving yourself. Many of us have come through some crazy situations in our lives. From abuse to tragedy life has not always been easy. From death to disaster some of us have seen enough in this life to knock one over the edge. This compiled with many other extenuating circumstances have caused one to not love themselves. Some have never been told how much they are loved. Some have never been loved in actions from others. It’s very interesting in my own life that no one ever said that they loved each other at all growing up. Now this was not because we were not shown love in certain ways it simply was just not said. It wasn’t until my mother went to a particular church that we were taught about true love. This love of course is the love of God that allowed us to begin to express to our family how much we loved them. We began saying it more and more and it became contagious. We were so solidified in God and ourselves that this would remain until today. The reason I bring this up was because before then I really did not know how to love myself let alone others. I hated myself because of some things that happened to me as a child. I had no identity that I could call truly my own. Myself esteem was low and I had poor self image. There was truly no way I could love myself. My actions were those of anger and resentment towards many people including my absent father. So I truly understand how it feels to not love oneself.

My encouragement to all who will read this blog is to start today saying to yourself how beautiful you are. Tell yourself that God loves you if no one else does. Tell yourself that you are not a mistake but a miracle who has survived some crazy things. Tell yourself that God does not make mistakes and that you have a purpose in this life. Talk to yourself when you ar in your lowest moment.  Build up your own self image. Don’t rely on people to bring you out all the time because the reality is that sometimes people don’t know how to help others because they can’t help themselves. Remember that there was only one who walked this earth perfect and we all have something that we have to overcome. I have heard it said that if we have no trials then we can’t truly experience growth. If there is no rain in our lives how can there be new life produced. So no matter how it is or has been, we are all here for a reason. WE maynot know why life has been such hell at times but we are here to tell our story. Love yourself when you feel like you can’t. Loving yourself through hard times is an example of strength and courage. This is also encouraging to those around you.

Ladies love yourselves so that some slickster can’t come to you with some smooth line to talk you out of your most precious virtue. Fellas love yourselves so that you don’t settle for any less than what god has for you in life. Parents love your children so that they have an example of what true loves looks like so that the counter fit can’t invade their lives with this false sense of love that will not remain because it has no roots. In the book of John chapter 3 verse 16 it says that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is the ultimate example of true love. Let’s be this way towards ourselves. To love yourself is to like who you are and who we have come to be.  Loving yourself is being willing to recognize that life is not perfect but it is a work in progress. Loving yourself is coming to a realization that we are not only here for ourselves but others. Loving yourself is being able to tell others how much you love them no matter what the response. Love is contagious and the more we say it the more it is felt. The more we walk in it the more it becomes a way of life. The more we embrace it the better our lives are. Finally the more we understand it the easier it is to communicate it to those around us. I will leave you with these words from 1 Corinthians 13 which reads; 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not ey; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

True love came down for all of us and died. Don’t let this dying be in vain. Love yourself to day and forever.

LOVE YORUSELF YOU ARE COMPLETELY WORTH IT!

Have a great day.
