Let’s keep it real!
So let me start off by saying this one is for those of us who claim we are men and women of god. Now let me be even more specific because the word of the day is “Christian” and the plain and simple truth is everyone is not living like a “Christian”. So for the many people who talk the talk but are living fowl this is for you. Also for the many friends who I have that are not Christian but practice other religions please don’t feel like you have to be alienated from reading this blog. This is definitely for you to read also as well as I feel a duty to bring truth and correction to those of us who should be the examples in this very lost world.
So lately I have run into many people who are having major problems with the church, Christians, Christianity, and organized religion as a whole. Now to set the record straight I ABSOLUTELY HATE ORGANIZED RELIGION! I will say now and forever that I am not religious but I purposely maintain a personal relationship with God. For those who don’t understand this I mean I purpose in my heart to live a life that reflects Jesus Christ coming into my heart. So this doesn’t mean I go to church every Sunday or bible bash and judge people on the regular! I don’t walk christianese, talk christianese, or live in a Christian bubble. This simply means I know God personally and nothing will come between or before that. So with all that being said I have come into contact with people who absolutely hate church and all that it stands for because they have had a bad experience with it. So for me what this says is that we are doing a horrible job as believers representing God and who Christ wants to be for and in people. We are caught up in the wrong things and people are suffering because of us. We argue over stupid things and show the world a divided body. We live one way and talk another way which is hypocritical and also misrepresents God. We judge people not realizing that one finger pointed out is three pointed inward. We put people in hell all the time like we actually have that job, which we don’t! All this and so much more has happened so that people are further away from wanting to know God.
I am deeply troubled by this as I am a part of Gods body and when one messes up we all mess up. I am by no means perfect and will never profess to be but I am daily aware of who I am in Christ and will never point the finger until I have examined myself first. I try to be quick to love and give grace as I want the same thing in return. I don’t make it my mission to find fault in others but try to restore those hwo are acting out what they are feeling. I live by the saying if a person knew better then they would do better. So why are we as believers judging the fruit of a person’s life without examining the root of the behavior? I am so disappointed with the amount of religious activity which denies the truth of God and who He is. So this is a call to all who are believers to set up and stand up for what is true and right. Stop living a lie and live and live truthfully and in truth. Be real as it takes much more work to be phony. Be an example to those who are looking for something and someone who is real.
A WORD TO THOSE WHO ARE OUT THERE ALWAYS TELLING BELIEVERS HOW THEY SHOULD LIVE BUT NOT TRYING TO LIVE THE LIFE THEMSELVES.
1. Shut your mouths until you walk a day in a believers shoes.
2. Don’t give advice that you are not first willing to take yourself.
3. Let it be known, it takes a real man or woman to live for God and it’s not easy at all.
4. Never throw rocks in a glass house.
5. The way you judge us will come right back at you just as hard.
My challenge to all who read this blog is to first off get it together lidies and gentlemen, because time is precious and so many people are out there hurting and feeling like there is no hope. We have to stop all the nonsense and really try hard to deal with our own individual issues daily so we can be a hope and help to others. Second be real with and true to self because if we are not honest we can’t help anyone. This is how we can be a witness to others and help them along the way. When we walk in love and truth we can lead them to the same truth. What is truth you may ask? The answer is God and all He is! Now this may be different for all of us but there is only One God and only one truth. I will always say that if we are pursuing truth we will end up with GOD!
My challenge to those of my readers who are of other religions would be the exact same thing. Live a life that represents what you stand for. Be an example to those who are out there that need help. Love hard and let love show through your actions. If you can’t do this then I would question what you are really standing for.
When it is all said and done and some may get mad when I say this but it must be said; religion at the core takes away from who God is! So I encourage all to pursue a relationship with God not some dead, ritualistic, traditional, stanch dead repetitive behavior that is not moving God one bit.
Finally I would say to the reader more is caught than taught so for as much as we can say a whole lot to people how about we live what we mean and when we have to; use words!
I know this may be hard but it hurts my heart to see so many people lost and mad at God because of poor representation of who He really is. God is our Father and loves each and every one of us so much. He wants us to accept, feel, and walk in this love. So lets do it!
As always God bless and have a great day!
