Identity
Today this world is faced with a huge case of identity theft. I am not talking about when some ones wallet is stolen and people then have their identity taken and used in a fraudulent manner. The identity theft I am talking about is the kind that has left people without a clue of who they are. WE see so much in this world or society that dictates to us who we should or should not be that it has left many people wondering who they really are. I see so much out there that has left people daced and confused. Many people especially young people are out there exploring all kinds of things just to try and identify themselves. They are a generation that is not relying on the things of the past to help them in the future unfortunately the previous generations have not done a good job with keeping them connected. Furthermore the church has not done a good job with keeping the gospel relative, interesting, or even available. So with these disconnections and gaps we are witnessing what can happen as a result. Many people are being raised without parents which lead to a loss in identity. Others are not being raised with a understanidg of God, creation, and or spiritual roots which also leads to a missing part of identity. So as a result there is no root or basis in which people can mature with. This leads to many different examples of what can happen when people don’t have good direction. For those of you who are in a position to help lead by example or direct someone into a positive path please do so. For those of you who have children that you may not be with remember that they are now growing up to be whatever they see around them. If this is you I challenge you to be a part of your child’s life so that they can be comfortable in their own skin because they know their history. Don’t let history repeat itself if you grew up without your parent(S). To those of you who have any influence with your extended families don’t be afraid to talk to your cousins, nieces, nephews or any other people in the family who needs direction to solitify who they are. Identity is so important in the lives of people who are considered our future. If they are lost then this world will be lost in the future. I as a man of faith will always suggest to those I am around that you never forget that God is real and he is there for us to help us whenever we need Him. Also he is the one who created us and gave us our identity from birth.
So if I could leave you with anything in this message it would be to never negate an opportunity to know who and what you really are and or stand for. Secondly I would encourage you to help those out there who seem to be lost without direction. Finally it would be to pray for the young people that are coming up without any sense of whom they are or where they are going. It would be to also pray that those who have truth and are not sharing it would not be afraid to do so.
Identity is huge but it is also a huge missing factor in many lives. It is something that can be seen when one possesses it and it is very apparent when one does not have ii.
Let’s help to help the lost ones find their identity again.
