Happy Father’s Day Mom!

This blog is not meant to take away from any father out there who is doing what needs to be done. I simply wanted to recognize all the mothers out there who unfortunately have had to play dual roles of both mom and dad. So on a day such as today I say happy father’s day mom for being the mom and dad for those of us who had no fathers present in our childhood.  I know that there are many reasons why fathers could not or would not be present in the lives of many children raised by single moms but this never stopped moms from doing what they had to do. So to this younger generation of kids coming up and young single mothers take note to the many moms who have put it down for their kids over the years. Through blood, sweat, and many tears they have raised both men and women children. It may have not been done right, but who is the judge of that anyway?   They have made many mistakes, but who could have told them that they would be doing this alone? They even still get a bad name as many things other than being the constant in their kids’ lives both good and bad are often highlighted.

To all of the cynics out there who want to bad mouth women for many reasons I say that today I nor at any time will I allow you to place shame, gilt, or disrespect towards these women who have had to raise their kids on their own. I am not speaking about extreme situations where women purposely hold the children as ponds against fathers. I also don’t know why women do this, but I’m not here to judge each individual situation either. I am here to celebrate those brave women who have rallied and done amazing jobs over the years raising children by themselves.

My mom was one of those women who had to get it done for a good while and I am here to celebrate her today as well. To anyone out there who has walked in the shoes of being raised by your mother because pops checked out or chose not to be there give your mother a great big hug today and say happy Father’s Day mom!

She is worth it!  She needs to know how much she is appreciated! She is the champion who saw the challenge through to the end and she has prepared many of us for our own families. She didn’t take the punk way out, she stayed no matter how hard it was, and she has been the rock for many families for years.  She is in many cases the matriarch and deserves all the respect and honor for being that constant in many lives.

We love you single moms on this day and we will never forget your sacrifices, dedication, and ultimate exhibit of love.

As always have a great day!
