Biblical clarity!

Biblical clarity!

So just recently I have been hearing people in the church world talk about rebuking satan and this is what we are supposed to do. However, I wanted to bring clarity to what is being said by most people that is simply not biblical at all. The bible tells us sure enough to bind satan and loose certain things pertaining to our particular prayer need but the bible is clear as to what it is that we are called to do and suppose to do. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show our selves approved unto the Lord, to rightly divide the word for true understanding, and we are commanded to know His word.   So with that I will tell you what I am talking about…

So I hear people say things like; ”I command satan to go back to the pit of hell from which he came, or that attack came from the pit of hell,” and so on. But I am here to tell you that satan is not from hell nor is he going back to hell when we command him to do so.  The bible is very clear when it talks about the devil and not one time do you ever read about him leaving hell to attack Gods people or people in general.  Now don’t get me wrong I have heard this my entire Christian life and I have done the same thing over the years, but it’s simply not biblically correct to do so. Satan is the prince of the power of the air which means he is constantly moving. He is not god so he cannot be everywhere at all times but he does roam and scripture verifies this statement.

The following verses bring my point home about satan not being bound up in hell where he leaves when he wants to attack us.

 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

James 4:7 ESV

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Job 1:6 ESV

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

Revelation 12:9 ESV

And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Job 1:7 ESV

The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

Ephesians 6:12 ESV

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 2:2 ESV

In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—

Isaiah 14:12 ESV

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!

2 Corinthians 2:11 ESV

So that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

John 16:11 ESV

Concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

John 14:30 ESV

I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me,

John 12:31 ESV

Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.

Matthew 4:1 ESV / 5 helpful votes

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Zechariah 3:1 ESV

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.

Job 2:1 ESV

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord.

1 John 5:19 ESV

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Mark 4:15 ESV

And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.

Matthew 4:3 ESV

And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.”

Isaiah 24:21 ESV

On that day the Lord will punish the host of heaven, in heaven, and the kings of the earth, on the earth.

Revelation 1:18 ESV

And the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Jude 1:6 ESV

And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—

2 Thessalonians 2:9 ESV

The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,

Matthew 12:43 ESV /

“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

Revelation 20:14 ESV

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:2 ESV

And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

Revelation 20:1 ESV

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.

So we see here in many examples of scripture that satan has been roaming since he was cast down to the earth to do so. We also see in the later verses I found that he will be bound for 1000 years and also the fallen angels will be bound as well, but this is not right now and even when they are bound they will be loosed once again until Jesus returns to put him in the lake of fire forever.

So please know what scripture says about satan and what he is doing right now on this earth. Remember that he is not chillin in hell because we have rebuked him and sent him there. This is simply not the truth about what happens when we pray and bind up satan or demons. They are cast back into the atmosphere between the first and second heavens.

So now you may ask what do we say when we are binding satan? My answer is simple bind him up in Jesus name and call out the devil by the name he is manifesting himself as (for example; fear, hate, depression, etc.…).  Remember they cannot go to hell from which they came because they were cast out of heaven onto the earth and have yet to meet their final destination which is hell.

I hope this helps anyone who has been sending satan to the pit of hell which is not his origin. The bible says to be wise as a serpent yet harmless as a dove so we must be wise enough to know Gods word and also wise enough to know how to use it.

Have an amazing day and utilizing all the wisdom you have gained from this blog.

God bless you.
