Being comfortable in your skin!
Too many times in this life we are being told what we should do, who we should look like, what we should or should not wear, and many other opinions that shape who we are. Now this is all within reason. If your parents are telling you to do or not do something then this is typically good advice. However if you are beyond childhood age and struggle with knowing who you are then this message is for you as well. There are many voices in this life but we must be careful to listen to the right voices. People go throughout life trying to please others, and sometimes this is all they know how to be. Something or someone has told them that they are not good enough or don’t look good enough. Their appearance is not good enough or they need to change who they are. I am here to declare to those of you who feel this way that it is ok to be comfortable in your own skin. I was not for many years! I hated who I was and did not understand why God made me so different. I did not think I had much of a purpose but I now realize that God does not make mistakes or junk! For those who think that athey way that they were born is not right really don’t understand the creator. God is an awesome creator and is very unique in what He creates. I love the fact that I am uniquely made. I love that I have my own identity. I have grown to love who I am as a person and now realize it was never a mistake for me to be here today. This came with time and I am yet learning about myself. To be comfortable in your own skin means to love who you were created to be irreguardless of other opinions of you. It means that you know that your life has a purpose. It is to say that I may not know everything but what I do know is that I matter. It is to understand that you do have a voice in your own right. You have a destiny that involves the person that God created without alterations, cosmetic changes, organ changes, or identity changes. It is to say that who I was created to be is good enough. So for those of you who are reading this that may struggle with who you are, stop and take a good look at the creative specimen that you are and love yourself. You are a unique individual that this world needs. You are one of a kind and without you as you were created are missed and missing. Don’t buy into the lie that you are not good enough. Don’t feed into the negative society that tries to dictate what you should be duplicating. It changes too much for us to keep up with anyway. Start today with a new way of seeing yourself. Don’t let small people dictate your destiny. You were born with a purpose and that is to be you! The only unique you! The you that is so special that God took time to make only one of you! That is special and so are you. Be comfortable in your own skin, love who you are. Tell yourself what you think of you but before you do this please understand who God says that you are first, so that you can properly declare who you are. Know that God loves you so that you could love you, in turn so that you couldlvoe others.
God’s thoughts towards you …
Psalm 139:14-17
New International Version (NIV)
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Jeremiah 29:11
New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Romans 8:28-32
New International Version (NIV)
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
More Than Conquerors
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us
Don’t forget these words. Be comfortable in your own skin and love the person you wre created to be.
Have a great day.
