Battle wounds

Our wounds are not for us!

I wanted to write about this topic after talking to a good friend of mines last week. He is entering a new chapter in life and we were discussing how it feels to make a change in life after you have been doing something for a while. Not only are you good at it but you enjoy it immensely and it is simply hard to say goodbye. We continued the conversation by talking about the many times we had to experience things so that others could gain from our experiences.

This is typically true in ministry and how God uses us in life. We navigate this thing called life in the best way we know how but God ultimately has the last say in it all when we choose to follow Him. Now let me be real at this point a make it clear that by no means is this easy. It is not easy to go through things nor is it easy to transition into the next whatever is a waiting us. We take on battles a lot of times to protect those who can’t protect themselves and also we have this unique nature inside that naturally wants to be the one who bares the brunt of any bad situation. In addition to this we tend to feel the need to protect those around us or given to us for care.

This is what we talked about in that conversation and it became abundantly clear that we are the ones who take on the wounds of others because we were created with the knack to do so. Now for some reading you may think that this is crazy and you would never put yourself out there to protect or stand for those who can’t do so themselves without knowing them or having some type of connection. For others reading you may relate to this in a huge way. Either way we understood how great the need is for people to have that person who can be relied upon. Sure this is a grave responsibility on our part but it is also very much needed

So with all of this what I am trying to convey to you the reader is that life may bring you certain situations that make absolutely no sense at times , but I can guarantee you this; you will know why it happened in due season. Some of the things we go through as leaders is not for us but for those we will minister to in one way or the other. So for every character assassination, every lie told, every misrepresentation, every challenge, hardship, tragedy, scare, disappointment, or any other situation that you have experienced in this life remember that you may be going through this thing for the help and rescue of someone else.

As a man of faith I realize that my life is not my own once I accept Christ so I often are reminded of this as I go through certain things. I believe that for everything we go through \god has already prepared us for the task at hand. So go through it gracefully and very assuredly because the battle is being assisted by God.

So the next time you are in the heat of battle sort of speak remember some of these wounds are going to help others survive in this thing called life.

Remember this; never to say what needs to be said, do what needs to be done, and make the tough decisions for the greater good of humanity.

 God bless you all,

D
